Simon Kalinowski is a technology entrepreneur who has spent more than two decades building and growing businesses across technology, sustainability and industry.

He is best known for Mandalay Technologies, where he spent more than 20 years building the business into one of Australia’s leading software providers for the waste and resource recovery sector. Mandalay’s technology is used by councils and commercial operators to manage some of the complex operational, transactional and data challenges involved in running waste facilities and services.

During that time, Simon worked closely with local government, industry and technology partners across Australia. His work has focused on how technology, automation and better use of data can improve the way essential services are delivered.

The growth of Mandalay also gave Simon first-hand experience across most parts of building a business, from product and technology through to sales, strategy, acquisitions, leadership and investment.

His interests have since broadened beyond waste and resource recovery. Today, Simon invests in and advises businesses across technology, infrastructure and environmental industries, and serves in a number of board and strategic leadership roles.

He remains particularly interested in businesses operating in complex industries where technology can make a practical difference.
